I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

There are a lot of smart, fun people who work here. I was part of an acquisition/merger that went quickly and smoothly. JPMC are clearly experts at that! I enjoyed some of a great people I met and learned a lot while working there.

Cons

It's a big of a 'boys club'. Lots of politics and high school behavior with managers and employees. The culture could use an update, but it's banking after all...

Advice to Management

Clear out the dead weight to bring in some fresh talent, that includes managers and employees.

I worked at J.P. Morgan full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There are many pleasant colleagues. The offices are very spacious and are a pleasure to work in, as well as being convenient to subways and buses.

    Cons

Salaries aren't that good, career development is left to the employee, health benefits seem to get more costly and less comprehensive each year.

I worked at J.P. Morgan full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

My experience is specifically with the Mobile banking team:
    - Learn with the best industry standard IT management tools in a process optimized environment
    - Learn to work with dispersed teams using state of the art communication tools
    - Be surrounded by brilliant project focused people who work at a relentless pace
    - Learn form a delivery focused metrics driven schedule with tight releases
    - Treated as professional with reasonable work from home allowances and flexible schedules

    Cons

    - Expect weekend work, and high pressure work environment
    - Minimal on boarding where most people are too busy to train new employees
    - Large offshore component and communications can make collaboration challenging
    - Little interaction between teams, very segmented and narrow roles
    - Little team building, cramped office in fringe SOMA location

    Advice to Management

Improve your on boarding and work facilities to compete with other IT companies in the area. Create an innovation team to keep good employees engaged when projects get cancelled.
