I worked at J.P. Morgan full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Predominantly smart people
good life/work balance and family friendly
broad and free internal education and social programs
it's a giant - provides credibility

Cons

slow moving projects, too many meeting
decisions by title not expertise
frozen salaries for some since 8+ years
it's a giant - too big to move fast

Advice to Management

listen to clients and experts, not titles and innovate or be left behind

I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great working environment, ample opportunities for growth, one of the most respectable companies to work at, access to senior management, great pay, meritocracy.

    Cons

Internal moves are lateral even if you are moving to a higher level, you get more responsibility, maybe more hours, but same pay same title (Officer, AVP, Assoc. VP, ED) until you are recommended for a promotion. HR policies make promoting people an uphill battle. External candidates get the Title and Salary of the position posted (unlike internal candidates, but internal candidates have preferred status, followed by JPMC Alumns)

    Advice to Management

Relax HR rules around promotion, enable internal candidates to get the salary and title of new positions on start date.
