I worked at J.P. Morgan full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

I have worked with people that have turned a part-time job in a bank into a career. Maybe it's just my manager, but the bank has a very strong code of ethics enforcement. Great Benefits, good pay for college students with school flexibility, and the company is all over the US. The uniforms are not bad, the company gives it's employees allowances to purchase any style uniforms they like. Their operating systems are a lot better. I prefer it a lot more than Wells'.

Cons

The company changes the incentive packages every year. It sounds like they try everything to keep them from paying your incentive, but this is probably just to make sure that the banker made a quality sale. Gaming is a rampant in the banking industry. Sometimes, wearing the uniform everyday gets boring and robotic. The company has a very corporate feel to it- definitely feels different than WaMu. WaMu was more people-friendly.

    Pros

They activly seek out and acquire top talent.

    Cons

They do not take the time to develop talent, but seek it from outside the bank. Training is very weak!

    Advice to Management

Take the time to LISTEN to your employees. As boots on the ground, we have a true feel for the pulse of the bank. Reatil banking and commercial banking are two very different cultures!
