I have been working at JELD-WEN full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Smart, dynamic and collaborative co-workers, great corporate office and environment. Products you can be proud of and are synonymous with high quality. Transformational change and a new CEO with a great vision and the drive to achieve goals.

    Cons

Company is going through a transformation, so that can mean navigating ambiguity and you need to be comfortable with change management.

    Advice to Management

Keep driving transformational change, being ambitious and growing the firm. Invest in company culture and communications initiatives.

I worked at JELD-WEN full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good benefits, ok pay, my supervisor was great, plenty of opportunities to bid on new jobs, 3rd shift workers will most likely get to experience a wide variety of jobs so you may get some experience with a job you want to bid on in the future. Not in great location.

    Cons

If you want a raise your best bet is to bid on a new job. They will work you to death in the summer. Prepare to have a heat stroke in certain parts of the plant in the summer. I usually brought 2 pairs of clothes for one day of work.

    Advice to Management

Some people can not handle working 6 day 12-hour shifts per week in the conditions here so accommodations need to be made for overtime.
