I worked at Jabil full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Money/ salary may be Ok

Cons

Once in a job, you are boxed in for life
Nature of business is tough, IT is very little to NO respect in Business
Senior IT management needs to go, IT needs a shuffle.

Advice to Management

If the company has to grow. Old need to go to make way for the New generation. There is no IT maturity. Everyone can spin off a project, have their own cost-center, and just show some metrics, On-Time Delivery, On-Time Commit, On-Budget; regardless if the budget, scope may have change few time.

IT is PRIME scope for a complete OUT-SOURCE. Current IT is wasted effort.

    Pros

Good people trying to make a living.

    Cons

VERY poor management, Low pay scale.

    Advice to Management

Come up with plan and stick to it longer before changing it. Void people who are not doing quality work because they work to fast. Quality is more important than output.

I have been working at Jabil full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Fun people to work with, lots of drinking if that is what you want. EMS providers provide great experience that is invaluable when moving to real companies.

    Cons

Basically expect to be treated like a commodity. They will use you and work you long hours without OT for salaried positions. When business is down, they have massive layoffs. You will never feel secure working for this company. Pay is below average, benefits are below average with only 2% match in 401K and no pension plan. Expectation to travel can be quite high in some positions with little regard for personal inconvenience in one's life. Promotions are based on fitting the Jabil mold. I knew some managers who were the best I have seen told they did not fit the Jabil "personality" and as a result would not get promoted.

    Advice to Management

Treat people fairly, not just as numbers.
