I have been working at Jacobs full-time (More than a year)

Pros

It's not too difficult to see yourself crossing right from uniform to the corporate world in a seamless fashion. They speak your language and understand your culture.

Cons

Mentoring is not very readably available and those little irky differences between the corporate world and the armed forces are not explained very well; you learn at your own painful pace.

Advice to Management

More mentoring and better guidance especially for the rookies.

    Pros

At Jacobs, you will be given good opportunities to move forward in your career if you prove that you can make up for the lack of knowledge and experience with a positive mindset, willingness to learn and good inter-personal skills.

    Cons

Being involved in several ongoing projects simultaneously results in the inability to go into too much of details for a particular project. This is not too good for depth, however you gain width by exposure to different industries.

    Advice to Management

Learning on the job is the best way to learn. However more structured training programs will ensure that new employees, in particular the young ones, have a good foundation on the basics and that expectations are clear.
