I have been working at Jacobs full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Lucrative compensation, recognition for higher education, independent work situation for myself with little to no direction given, nor required, from upper management.

Cons

My work situation does tend to isolate me from the rest of the workforce, which I do not necessarily mind, but I am somewhat in the dark when I have to become involved with other workcenters. As with almost any company, I find there are a lot of cliches, and in our work location, nepotism. My exposure to Jacobs Technology has been a double-edged sword. I am grateful to leave the service with such a good paying and interesting position, but have a growing feeling that this is not necessarily how other businesses are. At least not all of them. I look forward to moving on when the right position presents itself.

I worked at Jacobs full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent benefits package, half day Fridays, PTO…

    Cons

This is a project based organization. When the project you are assigned to is complete ... so is your job. You and everyone else on your project is looking for work. If you are not an engineer proceed with caution.

    Advice to Management

Be mindful that your organization does not run itself. Administrative staff are of value, and should be treated as such during project closeout.

    Pros

I like the environment, very friendly.

    Cons

Leads need to know how to choose the right people for the role they play on a project.

    Advice to Management

Know who your strong people are and utilize them in order to be effective.
