I have been working at Jacobs full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Nice people. Large company with room to grow if you are willing to move around. Very relaxed work atmosphere.

Cons

Very bureaucratic at times. Can be frustrating to get things done internally or improve work processes. In general, work is very slow paced on repetitive.

Advice to Management

Don't let company polices stop you from adopting positive change.

I worked at Jacobs full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They have focus that centers on safety. Certain managers are genuinely nice and care for their people and subcontractors.

    Cons

Jacobs frequently fills highly technical positions with unskilled personnel and pays their skilled personnel well below average. This is not obvious until you're neck deep in the work. There are also about 4 levels of reporting so if you have a weekly report, it's going to be scrutinized several times before you ever submit it.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the extra layers of management, pay people what their worth, stop low-balling contract bids, encourage technical workers to take time off, give real bonuses and stop getting people excited about $500 at Christmas time. Risk managers need to be accredited engineers, not math teachers, business analysts, or some other shoe-horned occupational specialty.

I have been working at Jacobs full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Compensation is fair for the most part; most work is meaningful

    Cons

At times you are placed in a position just because they need a body; no opportunity to negotiate salary

    Advice to Management

    Continue growing the company!
