I have been working at Jacobs full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

I've had no problems working for Jacobs. I've received good exposure to the DoD world which is quite different from the Prvate world. Many position offer the 9/80 schedule which allows for 3 days weekends every other week.

Cons

Not a lot of room to advance professional in the DoD world.

I worked at Jacobs full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Your job is secure during the government contract period
    The pay is good initially

    Cons

If the government contract is lost at the end of a contracting period then so are your benefits related to years of service.
You can quickly top out on the government salary ranges for your job category and once that happens you will not get another raise unless the next government contract raises the salary ranges.
Extra effort gets little or no meaningful recognition
