I worked at Jarden as an intern

Pros

They are a conglomerate, so they're not doing too bad because they have a little something in a lot of different markets.

Cons

Management was very distant. Would send important emails to my supervisor, and he never responded / didn't even read them. Very disappointing. Not much room for advancement. Not much in terms of professional development. A lot needs to be updated. I prefer to be in a more innovative environment.

Advice to Management

Be more invested in your employees.

I worked at Jarden full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Possible for flexi hours, clean office environment

    Cons

Lack of communication between the management and general staff. Limited resources is the norm. Imbalance power between I.T. team (too powerful) and the rest of the company.

    Advice to Management

Communicate with your employees, and watch for the reality.

I worked at Jarden (Less than a year)

    Pros

Supportive co-workers, friendly work environment and activities such as Friday BBQ's and 5k charity runs in the summer.

    Cons

Somewhat outdated in terms of IT, many processes and procedures related to getting things done that make work slow and bureaucratic. Mind you, I worked there before Jarden was acquired by Newell-Rubbermaid so some of these things may have changed.

    Advice to Management

Improve processes to remove some of the bureaucratic barriers which stop the company from being competitive in a fast-paced global market.
