Pros

Jazz at Lincoln Center is a fantastic atmosphere to work in, and the people within the company are fun while hard-working, making it a great place to work.

Cons

The only downside that I can think of pertains to the music - because the organization is working hard for the benefit of jazz, sometimes the jazz itself can be neglected.

Great Environment filled with real cool people who play music.

    Cons

Driving the business ahead wasn't always the top priority.

I worked at Jazz at Lincoln Center part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Getting paid to see shows, milling about backstage with talent, flexible availability, very autonomous scheduling choices

    Cons

Environment incredibly inhospitable to women. I endured sexual harassment at most if not all shifts. Reported to HR who essentially told me it was my fault and questioned my stories. Management doesn't care about their jobs, nor you. No healthcare. I was physically pushed by one of my fellow ushers at one point for no reason. Insufficient training before the job starts. High turnover.

    Advice to Management

Care more about your jobs here, rather than always wishing you were somewhere else. Your energy trickles down to the ushers and ticket takers. Ask your employees how they're doing rather than offloading your personal stories and woes to them. Behave like managers.
