I worked at Jeppesen full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

The people are great and benefits are excellent. Work/life balance is better than most places. Recognition for a job well done is also nice at Jeppesen.

Cons

The politics are hard to maneuver at times. It can be complicated to get anything done with all the meetings.

Advice to Management

Pay attention to the individual contributors thoughts on culture and politics. There are some people with great ideas out there.

I have been working at Jeppesen full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pay okay and you get insurance benefits

    Cons

They have taken away a lot lately from school reimbursement to just standard items in the work place. They proclaim change and how they need to change to make the environment better but when it comes time to change you run into a brick wall. Also team building is virtually non existent. You have a slight few of hard workers and then people that generally skirt around doing their work and they get away with it. Really kills any desire for anyone to excel as you get paid the same whether you work hard or are slacking.

    Advice to Management

They need to fire the slackers. It takes over a year to fire someone it seems and that is too long. If you truly want change to happen cut the dead weight. You have programmers that only know how to do old coding. You have people that are stagnant and feed off of others and you fail to reward those that come into the company trying to make a difference thus adding to the lack of motivation. I have seen people get away with not doing their jobs for over a year and nothing has happened. In previous jobs I worked, we were fired for doing less. CUT THE DEAD WEIGHT and get in fresh blood. CHANGE if you truly mean it, enough red tape.

I worked at Jeppesen full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very caring, very committed, very engaged team.
The work environment can be very fun.
    The product is very cool!
There are many unwritten perks to working at Jeppesen.

    Cons

Many leaders need to be vacated from their chairs and returned to working in the trenches (if they ever have).
    Systems are antiquated; policies outdated.
Has a small company feel where there is sometimes some serious rumor mill that is detrimental to others' careers.

    Advice to Management

Focus! Stop trying to work on so many "Highest Priority" projects. If they are all the most important then none of them end up the most important.

You need advice from an outside consultant to help reign in your strategy, mission, vision & values before you will ever see gains in efficiencies.
