Pros

Most of the people are nice, the facility is nice. The incumbent personnel who have been there for a while are like a tight-nit family, and have a clear direction and sense of responsibility and accountability.

Cons

They seem to skimp when it comes to travel arrangements, tools you need to do your job. Management is not receptive to ideas, and they hold on to old technologies and programming languages, not employing the latest proven technologies, methodologies, and best practices. They expect developers to work well over 40 hours a week to compensate for still using procedural programming, and they wonder why deadlines are missed and bugs are prevalent.

Advice to Management

Just because innovation is written on your banner doesn't mean you truly embrace it. Let your engineers spread their wings and use all the skills they have to grow your products.

    Pros

Johnson Controls has very good values and a very promising 10 year mark for the company

    Cons

I really don't have much to say bad about this company, the only thing will be better medical coverage.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good job and very proud of the team that manages this company.

    Pros

Some great people to work with.
    Benefits package was great.
    My salary was really good.
    My commute was excellent

    Cons

The people they put in management positions were micro managers, they were disrespectful and downright mean. The work had grown but they didn't increase the staff to do the work and got mad at all of the employees for not being able to keep up. HR was non existent. And when you went to the VP she pretended to care but she really didn't. There's very much a feeling of "be happy you have a job now go do it" in that office. I have to say I'm very happy to be out of there!

    Advice to Management

It doesn't matter what advice you give they aren't going to change anything anyway. So if you as an employee see and opportunity to break free of shawshank I say take it!!
