Pros

Knowledgeable colleagues, hands on instrument experience

Cons

Work is disorganized, pace is grueling and unrelenting. Mgmt has no work life balance so it is expected that subordinates should not have a good balance either.
QC Senior mgmt is inept, as is QC middle mgmt,

Advice to Management

organize, spend some $$ on LIMS, hire more staff because the workload causes good employees to leave for greener pastures

    Pros

Overall it was a pleasant work environment with pleasant people.
Company is doing it's best to go Green.
It has a variety of industries to choose from and transfer to.
That's the best I can come up with.

    Cons

They do not conduct a performance review at the time it is due.
For such a large and successful company, benefits are poor in comparison with similar or smaller firms.
Your vacation and PTO are run together. If you are sick, it comes out of your vacation. They expect you to work endless overtime hours and yet asking for personal time off is like pulling teeth.
Minimal vision insurance. Dental insurance yearly max is less than typical for a large firm.
Human resources is slow and unreliable. (corporate in PA)
More into demoting than promoting at all levels. Years of loyalty and service means nothing.

    Advice to Management

Improve the benefits. Conduct performance reviews on time.
Keep employees in the loop. Don't say one thing and then turn around and do another.
