Disapproves of CEO

Pros

The people, the work life balance, management support, countless job opportunities, a variety of support via form of affinity group, summer hours, smart co-workers, great learning experience, educational support.

Cons

Although work-life balance is encouraged, the pace of work can become pretty hectic at times. Support the employees, by allowing them better opportunities to reinvest money into the business. Generally speaking, most will make good choices.

Advice to Management

Change the wage disparity gap. Other than that I'm very supportive of management at J&J. Hard to justify the CEO's wages during a time where cost cutting affects all of the associates. Additionally, although a firm's goal may be to maximize shareholder value, it is unrealistic to think that we can always achieve double digit quarterly growth.

    Pros

There's a great corporate culture with credo values that are aligned throughout the company. Employees are willing to help each other out and there's a lot of collaboration within each department.

    Cons

Politics are huge, being in a co-op position aka bottom of the food chain makes your relationship with your manager critical. Decentralized company so retrieving information from a different department can take weeks-I can't emphasize how much money the company is losing on pending requests alone.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. Disconnect between management and employees is causing diminishing employee morale which leads to lower performance. A little more standardization needs to be implemented. Stop acquiring so many companies when there's enough on your plate alone. The company is regressing to fire fighting.

It is a big corporation with many small. Company environments.

    Cons

Middle management doesn't behave always the way top mngmnt would like it to, you need a sponsor or you can get lost

    Advice to Management

Stay with the Credo! The most important asset the company has is it's value system as laid out in the Credo written by General Johnson in the late 1940s
