I worked at Johnson & Johnson as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

- Great benefits, compensation is often respectable
- Clear career path, rotations are highly encouraged
- Small company feel, big company resources

Cons

- It can be very political at times. People develop friends at various subsidiary companies and it is nearly impossible to get a position over another candidate if they have friends there.

Advice to Management

- Continue to have one on one meetings with the junior employees, providing feedback and advice. Very encouraging and makes you feel part of the team.

I worked at Johnson & Johnson full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Work/life balance is great with many employees working from home 1-2 days/week; salary, bonus, and health benefits are very good; company store discount is a nice perk; Every other Friday off during the summer

    Cons

Everyone is a number and unless you know someone up top, you are most likely not going to be promoted. There are frequent LAYOFFS; almost every year. Constant product recalls and FDA inspections leads to job stress and insecurity. Very process oriented company, so much that decisions are never finalized and projects struggle to move forward.

    Pros

Top customer exposure, daily interaction up to the VP level, great benefits and 401k, opportunity to work in or with different functions, friendly and open culture

    Cons

can take time to move into new roles, many employees play the political game, not always recognized for performance but more for who you know
