I worked at Johnson & Johnson as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

> Many opportunities to take on responsibility and work on new projects
> Great focus on work-life balance with a particular focus on vitality and wellbeing
> Young Leaders program (not applicable for interns but relevant for those in entry-level positions)

Cons

> There is no set internship program and therefore responsibilities vary from intern to intern - it depends on how much initiative you show and how proactive you are in seeking these opportunities

I worked at Johnson & Johnson full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    They have a written credo.
They are diversified (pharma, medical device, consumer).
    They pay well their people.
    They are financially healthy.

    Cons

    It's a really political companie.
Complex organisation with too many level of management which slow down the decision process.
They cut to much in HR area.
Some sites are under a FDA consent decree.
"People first, profit will follow" is less apply since the last 5 years.

    Advice to Management

Reduce complexity at all level (apply "lean concept" for many of their business processes)
Focus more on real innovation (not a variation of color and format of exisiting products)
Reduce total number of management level to 8 or less
Pay more attention to the selection of their managers (senior director and above) to make sure they are people oriented, not only business oriented.
