I worked at Johnson & Johnson as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

Great facility. Multiple interdisciplinary research projects. Welcoming environment. Employees enjoy working here. Management are highly knowledgeable, and have a scientific background. A lot of emphasis is placed on the culture, and values of the company. They take their credo seriously. I have never seen a company hold themselves to such high moral standards. This was impressive.

Cons

Large work loads, so one must have the ability to conduct multiple research projects at the same time. It is often difficult to get in contact with HR for minor technical matters as a new hire. They are often in meetings.

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Johnson & Johnson full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people, great history, respected past practices

    Cons

Claim to want your ideas to improve company but a misnomer...
Worked in a department that hired consultants and took their opinions over seasoned employees. If you get wrong comment in your hr file or special code you will never be hired again in ANY jnj division. Very disappointing.

    Advice to Management

Flush hr files and dismiss do not hire practices. Respect knowledge and opinions of experienced employees. Why give employees classes on process excellence then not be able to apply rules to own workplace!!

    Pros

Great products and the ability to contribute to improved health for so many people.

    Cons

Some management teams are more worried about their profit than the people who help drive the business. They eventually get weeded out, but have a way of surviving way too long and it is a cyclical thing.

    Advice to Management

No one has ever been fired for their Credo scores....rethink this and take a closer look at who in your organization is cancerous.
