Disapproves of CEO

Pros

Cross company opportunties, Strong recognizable brands, Support system, Networking

Cons

It's no longer the J&J that it used to be...small company feel, big company impact. Senior management has made the decision to consolidate many of the companies which has eliminated the small company culture and has driven to a more "corporate" feel.

Advice to Management

Don't forget to support your people and continue to develop them.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

JNJ provided a positive work environment with a good work/life balance. Local management was responsive and supportive. Initially, there seemed to be good opportunities for growth and development before the latest reorganization left the North American pharmaceutical research arm a shell of its former self.

    Cons

Recently, upper management has acted brashly in decimating entire divisions of the company. Information was kept secret and then disseminated in such a way such that even employees that were kept were not treated well, as though one should be grateful for the opportunity to do the work previously done by 5 people.

    Advice to Management

JNJ would do better to appreciate the talents and capabilities of its employees as scientists, rather than make sweeping accounting based decisions.
