While this While this review is difficult to read, I am thankful for the opportunity to address a few key points. Firstly, this post is 8 years old. Should there be accuracy in it, I am delighted to work with an organization which has come so far in fostering employee engagement and a family-oriented environment. I am sure there has been a great number of policies and improvements put into place which has made the company more effective throughout the years. We foster employee engagement through numerous new venues: fair and balanced compensation packages, work life balance, remote work opportunities, training and development opportunities, generous employee discounts, team-oriented activities (from ping-pong to puzzles), and various employer sponsored lunch and dinner events throughout the month. We want all our employees to feel valued and respected, as we recognize their work is meaningful and their ideas need to be heard and respected. All the leaders of our organization are 100% committed to making Juliska an amazing place to work and strive to make investments to make our employees successful in a thriving and engaging culture of open communication and enrichment.

Pros

Juliska is a smaller company in the best possible way. You get to know leadership personally, and you can actually see the impact of your work on the business and on some truly amazing brands. It’s a place where you can leave your mark, not to fill a role. Where you are a name, not just a position. There is a genuine focus on the individual here, from thoughtful benefits, that really support employees, to a willingness to invest in people‘s growth and development. If you’re looking for a company where your voice is heard, and your contributions matter, this is it.

Cons

Because the company is lean, workloads can be heavier at times and priorities can move quickly. That said, it also creates opportunities for departments to come together, support one another, and collaborate on projects that you might never touch at a larger, more siloed organization. It is something to be aware of if you prefer a more narrowly defined role.

Pros

The employee discount on the product is the only pro.

Cons

It’s unfortunate that zero stars isn’t an option, as that would more accurately reflect my experience with this company. As many others have noted, leadership is a significant concern. The organization is led by individuals who often appear disorganized and insecure, which creates confusion and inconsistency across teams. During the interview process, candidates are told the company values self-starters who can think critically and propose solutions. In reality, employees at the manager level and below are expected to follow directives without question. Attempting to think independently or challenge ideas is not encouraged and can lead to negative consequences. Micromanagement is pervasive, and there is a noticeable tendency to assume the worst in employees rather than foster trust. The workplace culture is further impacted by frequent gossip, unprofessional communication, and leadership tolerating—if not encouraging—discussions about colleagues behind their backs. Support systems are also lacking. HR is not a reliable resource for resolving concerns, as there appears to be a strong bias toward protecting senior employees. In some cases, raising issues can make situations worse rather than better. Overall, the environment feels toxic, and the high turnover—despite not being openly acknowledged—is indicative of deeper organizational problems. Like others, I initially dismissed negative reviews on Glassdoor as isolated frustrations. In hindsight, I regret that assumption and would strongly encourage prospective employees to take these patterns seriously when considering this company.
