I worked at Juniper Networks full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Was considered as a great technology company once upon a time !

Cons

-Lacks diversity with respect to employee's demographic backgrounds. Does not give any impression of working with true multinational company.
-Constantly failing on execution since last few years.
-No clear road map for long term. Projects are started and shelved in the middle.
-Product quality degrading over period of time.
-Lot of attrition and employees seems to be doubtful about their future.
-Lots of promotions without evaluating people on the criterion defined. Looks like management is desperate to retain employees.
-Lacks mix of experienced and junior/fresh grads in engineering teams.
-Company does not believe in investing on fresh grads.

Advice to Management

Identify genuine talent and do not give false promises to retain them.
Control the rate of promotions. Not everyone deserves to be DE. Stop time-bound promotion scheme.
Focus on long term road map and execution strategy and don't change it too often.
Hire fresh grads to create right mix in the team.

    Compensation package

    Total dysfunction top to bottom
    Bad hiring - just hire people to fill rec's
    Processes are too burdensome
    No enterprise mojo
    Security business is going though death by a thousand cuts

    Advice to Management

    Lots of flavor's of the day when it comes to products/strategy but all poorly executed i.e. Falcon etc. Then cast aside. Invest in core business and bring in people who know the businesses. Most leaders have no networking background at all

    Great Products. Great Potential... Bad management. Microsoft leaders don't know how to sell. CFO is obstacle to cultural change.

    Leadership overhaul... inspiring wrong values.

    Quit or be fired.
