    Positive Outlook

I worked at KIPP Foundation full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Small schools allowing teachers to build strong relationships with students and stakeholders. Teachers are allowed to make decisions regarding classroom instruction.

    Cons

The mission is powerful and the demand is great so at times, the time requirement is demanding and it is challenging to truly create a work life balance.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook

I have been working at KIPP Foundation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Compared to other schools the salary is outstanding.

    Cons

There is no work life balance. You are forced to be more a drill sergeant than teacher. The whole work hard, be nice motto only applies to how KIPP admininstrators treat their own. Thanks to wicked bond they have with Teach For America too many KIPP teachers, deans and principals aren't even certified by the Department of Education to do their job. So that means you most likely have to answered to an unqualifed, uncertified novice who knows little about their craft or the kids of New Orleans.

    Advice to Management

    Get out of education. Immediately.
