Pros

Partner's tend to be quite knowledgable; some interesting work; tend to be understanding about family emergencies; generally a pleasant place with few screamers

Cons

Very bureaucratic; certain people are not respectful of individual time (calls on holidays and work on holidays - the big holidays); compensation is not enough for hours (regularly work 60+ hours for not a lot)

Advice to Management

Management at the office level I would say is actually quite good; the higher level management is a little out of touch with reality; change the e-mail infrastructure - it is killing productivity; improve internal document storage - Orion is horrible

    Pros

The best reasons to work at KPMG is because of the people and the learning environment. The people are intelligent, friendly, professional, and always work as a support system to better one another.

    Cons

One of the cons of working at KPMG are the hours, although anyone in this profession should be prepared to work many hours during busy season in order to better service the clients. And the main pro I mentioned above, the people, make the hours go by much faster.

    Advice to Management

I do not have any advice for leadership at this time, the leadership of KPMG has continually performed for the best of the company and its employees.

  2. "Long hours, office politics, unfair ratings"

    Pros

5 weeks of vacation, great training, buddy system/mentorship program was helpful to new hires, managers, sr managers and partners were very smart and capable

    Cons

The hours were long, but that's expected of the industry and the profession. There were too much office politics at the location I was working at. I witness staffs receiving discrimination for projects or made to work tough jobs 100% of the time because of unfair gossip/reputation. The performance review process was not transparent: negative formal reviews are unforeseen and catches staffs by surprise, when it should be communicated to the staffs immediately to give people chances to improve.

    Advice to Management

Create a culture that is anti-gossip, especially when it is about new staffs and when it could affect their work experience.
