I have been working at Kaiser Permanente full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Kaiser has a vision for healthcare that is in practice as well as in theory all about delivering the best healthcare at the best possible price. It is more than just words, the company really strives to deliver on those goals. The compensation and benefits may not be equal to Google, etc., but they are competitive even in the Bay Area.

    Cons

Kaiser's work processes demonstrate a lack of trust to the employees.

    Advice to Management

Kaiser doesn't adequately trust their employees. Even the most mundane purchase requests or software requests require way too much approval. If Kaiser really wants us to improve the service to our members and communities while reducing costs to our members, give us the autonomy to make decisions and stay out of the way.

I worked at Kaiser Permanente full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Excellent Benefits, Great working environment, great work/life balance. Very team oriented

    Cons

Department goal expectations pretty high and if you don't achieve or maintain them you are fired by being escorted out of the building and your stuff mailed to you in a box.

    Advice to Management

Be more conscious that everyone does not learn or grasp thing as quickly as everybody else. The person you fired may be passionate about the job they are doing but may be slow in learning it.
