    Pros

Benefits at Kaiser are great, and the flexibility of having everything there. Also the flexibility for work shifts is good.

    Cons

Employment opportunities come very slow internally, and sometimes people are very stressed out since it is a high impact company.

    Advice to Management

I think the mangers are good here, but if I could say anything, I would say to be a little more patient with emergencies and stuff that ensue with employees outside lives.

I worked at Kaiser Permanente full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You'll be surrounded by lots of really smart people who are passionate about health care. Good work-life balance if you land in the right group.

    Cons

The consensus-ortiented culture can be tough if you're used to moving quickly and being empowered to make decisions on your own. Lack of a graduate-level degree can feel limiting in career progression.

    Advice to Management

Given the "Thrive" campaign, I expected a much more vibrant, healthy, upbeat and active culture at KP than other work places. "Walking meetings" around Lake Merritt are wonderful - but others are doing a better job of engaging employees in fitness. I've enjoyed free bootcamp, yoga in the company parking lot, and running/cycling clubs at other companies. KP could be doing more to lead in this area.
