I worked at Kaiser Permanente part-time (More than a year)

Pros

Good service culture. Does a good job finding invested employees. Not a lot of turnover.

Cons

Can be difficult for part-time employees to find a solid position. It can be a challenge to cross over into a different branch of the company.

Advice to Management

Invest in those that really want to grow. Have a more stream-lined approach when it comes to career paths.

    Approves of CEO

I worked at Kaiser Permanente as an intern (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Personal growth, great benefits (good healthcare model).
    - Interned for 3 summers, all supervisors and teams welcomed college interns giving impactful projects with little to no supervision.
    - All departments follow KP vision and establish core company values, nice to see how your project plays into the overall mission.

    Cons

    - Lack of communication between KP health and business buildings, makes working across various departments difficult
    - Having worked in San Francisco and Oakland, office culture varies drastically depending on department. I thought exposing interns to your departments personal drama was a little off putting since an internship is a two way streak. While KP might be evaluating its interns, interns are evaluating the company, too.

    Advice to Management

Internships emphasize retaining the younger workforce, but upper management doesn't do terrific job of closing the deal by retaining fresh talent. Converse with your interns and help them see why KP is a good fit for them.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Kaiser Permanente full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits, the cafeteria, employees are friendly

    Cons

Management is clueless. They promote based on who they like, not skills or deserving people. They don't treat employees well and HR will always back the supervisor.

    Advice to Management

Grow up. Learn to accept different people. Listen to your employees.
