Pros

If you lack experience or lack knowlegde and are lazy but are a graduate of the school then this is the place for you. They don't appreciate anyone who is not a graduate even if they have excellent skills and work hard.

Cons

Fear, low pay, small mindedness, politics, racism,

Advice to Management

Respect your employees and let them do their jobs without micromanaging. Management would do well to learn their own jobs and to work a little harder.

I have been working at Kamehameha Schools full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

New Head of School implemented free lunch for everyone. You may also wear jeans now. Most people that you work with (students, parents, and colleagues) are great!

    Cons

A lot of change over in leadership. New positions created out of thin air. Lots of levels of administration -- too many heads trying to lead. It gets confusing and hard to move such a large ship going in one direction with so many initiatives.

    Advice to Management

Let organic collaboration happen and provide relatable professional development opportunities. Only address the people that are NOT doing their job and in turn that will reward and validate those that ARE doing their job -- moral will go up! Take the HR training for leaders...it talks about this very thing!

Systems and processes are like jumping thru a bunch of hoops. It gets tiring and makes for getting things done quickly very hard.
