    Pros

    As long as management supports store personnel, this job is not bad. Most Store Sales Managers work well with their lower level employees.

    Cons

    The Store Sales Manager(SSM) is totally responsible for everything that happens in the store. While that is a business as usual situation, most SSM's tend to leave their lower level employees out of the loop (unless they have done something that effects the SSM's). This has a tendency to disenfranchise these folks and hence supports a feeling of indeference. A well operated store (profit center) includes every employee and you can see ownership from each employee (not in Kanagaroo Express. Management generally does not support their lower level employee, but yet they expect these same employees to be loyal to the company simply because they have a job.

    Advice to Management

    `Treat your employees better, make them a part of the business (after all they are the front line contacts with the customers). Praise them for a job well done, correct them on a one-on-one basis only and give them responsibility is they are ready and want the extra responsibilities.
