    Pros

Kaplan Higher Education provides a great learning environment in the for-profit education sector. Kaplan has some great employee benefits like health, dental and vision care, Gift of Knowledge (discounted tuition at any company under the Kaplan, Inc. umbrella), matching 401k benefits and charitable donations.

    Cons

Kaplan Higher Education needs to improve in the following areas. Employee recognition; employees at Kaplan often do not feel satisfied with the recognition received after completing projects or tasks. Career growth; although Kaplan does provide tools to achieve career performance goals (set by employees yearly), it seems rather difficult to “climb the corporate ladder” with only a bachelor’s degree.

    Advice to Management

Provide more areas for career growth; employees with masters and judicial degrees should not be given priority over other employees with lesser degrees. Promotions should be determined by quality of work and the employee’s work ethic. Employees also need to be more involved in day to day operations, they should be in the know on what changes are coming and shouldn’t feel blindsided by massive restructuring or other changes.
