I have been working at Kenco Group as an intern (More than a year)

Pros

Dedicated, loyal workforce; interesting mix of long term employees native to the area and various talent from across the US and around the world. Small teams mean your contribution is either felt or missed. Management is approachable and involved; encourage suggestions for change & improvement. IT area of the business makes an effort to hire people that "fit", meaning they are open-minded and get along so while the logistics supply industry may not be inherently exciting or personally fulfilling, there's a definite goldmine of knowledge and wisdom to be gleaned if your looking for career mentoring.

Cons

IT business area has been underfunded for years but this is changing and evident through current hiring increase and bringing in outside direction from well-experienced industry vet to transform and upgrade a sagging and prone network infrastructure. Pay is lower than what you might find down the street, and vacation time for skilled hourly professional is Dickensian at a mere 5 days a year (plus 4 company holidays) only earning 10 days on your 3rd year. At least this is balanced by high availability of seemingly unlimited overtime and the prospect of career advancement as the company is poised for lots of steady growth in years to come. On the other hand, a job is a job is bills paid, belly fed.

Advice to Management

Only 5 vacation days off per year for the first two years might be understandable for a less-skilled position, but the concept behind "benefits" is showing the employee how much the company values the person's employment... you run the risk of not attracting quality people when benefits are less than market average.
