Pros

passionate and great people to work with
incredible growth, really going after the competition
beautiful office space
great opportunities for all types of positions
very dynamic, a lot of potential in future of business beyond their current products

Cons

privately held and decisions ultimately made by owner, often frustrating for teams to manage
work life balance can be a struggle at times
at times too much focus on expenses, management can be penny wise and pound foolish

I have been working at Kids II full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Really nice peers, good location, nice office decor, game room (but you risk being fired if you are seen in there)

    Cons

Kids II is a small company focused on small things. From top down there is little strategic direction or vision for the future. Employee turnover is high because of non-exsitant work/life balance and constant firing of talented employees on management's whim. There there is little no coaching and a major sense of fear among all employees. They also misquote job descriptions and are likely to sell you something other than what you are getting-which is a source of frustration among all new hires. They force you to sign an agressive and one-sided non-compete. They are highly leveraged.

    Advice to Management

Overall, management lacks honesty, integrity and behaves in a way that is unethical towards competitors and employees. My advice would be to take loads of sleeping medications, because if I treated people the way they do, I would not sleep at night.

I worked at Kids II full-time

    Pros

Tons of cheap entertainment. Ice cream parties+Breakfast Bagels. But sick days and being compensated for overtime are valued higher than a Klondike bar.

    Cons

Extremely disorganized. Most began their careers there and use the methods of from when the office had 20 people, now its +200. The blind lead the blind. Very gossip driven, you can never gain a sense of camaraderie because everyone is ready to frantically push themselves ahead and throw you under a bus. Turn around is pathetic. Try new ideas, not cheap versions of existing product.

    Advice to Management

Quit micromanaging. Get rid of middle management. They twiddle their thumbs until their work is done by someone else. Just because they wear short skirts doesnt mean they deserve promotions. You cant conquer the world, dont spread the company so thin so fast, the growth won't last.
