    I have been working at Kimley-Horn full-time

    Pros

Company's core purpose is to see its employees flourish and that is 100% true. The practice builder model allows project managers to pursue the work they are most passionate about. For those supporting these individuals, there is a similar entrepreneurial spirit... everyone has the opportunities to build their own 'practice' within the firm

    Cons

People work hard here.. sometimes at the expense of work-life balance. It is an intense, fast-paced work environment, and that is not for everyone.

I have been working at Kimley-Horn full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Industry leading benefits, great office culture, firm-wide resources available at a moments notice, and compensation that matches your effort. I've seen a lot of people on here that complain about the long hours to meet their utilization (UT) goal. If you are working 50+ hours a week, like these other people say, then you would have no problem meeting your UT goal at all. Also, if there is an issue, all my PMs and office...

    Cons

There is a very large emphasis on profitability, which I completely understand, but it seems to overshadow the engineering side of things at times. The speed of work can be daunting at times, but talking with your supervisor/PM will help solve some of those issues.

    Advice to Management

Continue being transparent about company culture and expectations.

    Pros

Recognition for quality and quantity of work, and for innovation is definitely rewarded. If you're going to do it anywhere - and for those new-to-employment engineers I'm talking to you - do it here. At least at KH you will get recognized and rewarded for it. For those that complain about work-life balance, understand that you will have the same demand on your time at any consulting engineering firm. I've worked at 6...

    Cons

Sharing of the profits (shareholder participation) across all levels/ladders that contribute toward the company's overall profitability and success leaves a little to be desired. Specifically CAD and Designer ladders - we need more incentive to make project managers' projects successful and profitable.
