Pros

If you like overtime it is the place for you. You can get as much overtime as you can handle.

Cons

No set schedule. Management is lost. Nepotism, good old boy network. Facility is in poor condition. Machines and people are overworked. Lots of breakdowns, and poor management of resources.

Advice to Management

Listen to workers. Reward as well as discipline. Keep machinery in working order. Maintain safe work environment. Train people before you judge performance..

    Pros

    On an overall basis, they exhibit a lot of interest in their employees and value the necessity of balancing work and a personal life. Base pay is average but bonus structure lucrative for some.

    Cons

    Kinder Morgan uses what some describe as "matrix management" whereby an employee really must serve two masters whose goals and requirements may not align very well. There is also quite a cast system there that favors former employees of Enron Corp.

    Advice to Management

    There are too many silos within the organization. Matrix management makes it difficult on employees, especially in the service sector. There are valuable and talented people who did not work for Enron, graduate from Stanford, or are related to Rich Kinder.
