The teachers and co-workers are a team. Alway willing help each other. Really invested in caring for the infants and children.

Cons

It’s a busy place but very rewarding to help , encourage and watch them grow in learning.

Pros

You get weekends off, an hour break, opportunities to take CDA courses through Kindercare, “okay-ish” benefits and of course the joy/fulfillment of spending time with the kids.

Cons

Depending on the center you work at, you’ll most likely run into unmotivated and unprofessional teachers. Unfortunately I worked with a bunch who genuinely did NOT want to be there. Curriculum books seemed to be out of date and nobody cared to put in effort into lesson planning. It shouldn’t always be about the money, but there’s no room for growth. If you complete the CDA, you’ll only receive a $2 pay bump. Employees are overworked and under appreciated. Turn over rate is extremely high. Everyone can agree that the burn out rate for childcare is high in general. Just wish that Kindercare incorporated something to improve their curriculum planning and employee retention.
