    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at King's College London full-time

    Pros

Higher end university (though it tends to trade on its reputation rather than worrying about maintaining it).
Relaxed working environment (mostly but see management comments).
    Historic reputation.
    Certain specialist subjects highly rated.
Decent office space if you don't mind open plan.

    Cons

Central computing facilities poor compared to other top end universities eg you cannot assume your desktop will be gigabit connected.
Management is top heavy and ineffective.
Wages not as good as some other colleges in London.
Not much chance of career progression except by changing jobs either within or without the college.

    Advice to Management

Ask your staff what they think would benefit the college.
    Sort out the IT provisions.
Let the people who want to make a difference make a difference.

  2. "Industrious workplace with ambitious funding for the right field"

    Pros

KCL is ideally based for forming collaborations with other world-leading institutions in London.

    Cons

Because of its size research groups maybe be lost in the process of advancing research.
