No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Kirkland & Ellis full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Kirkland has great development opportunities for legal support staff with a lot of perks you wouldn't receive elsewhere.

Cons

Pay is okay. However, since there are no other firms of relative size in the Chicago area, the firm has no wages to compete with.

I have been working at Kirkland & Ellis full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Energy and Utilities Practice Group was exception to work with - excellent career development.

    Cons

I really don't think there were any cons... some long hours but that is to be expected in the industry.

    Neutral Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Kirkland & Ellis full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The partners receive a huge share each year.

    Cons

That huge share is generated by eliminating more and more support jobs, requiring those at the bottom to do the work of two or three. Former focus on a positive culture has been abandoned and replaced with the philosophy: "If you don't like it here, then go somewhere else."

    Advice to Management

Look at how badly your technology is managed, and how your administrative teams are staffed. Then, change your technology leadership and hire more staff.
