I have been working at Knight Transportation full-time (More than a year)

Pros

new truck decent driver managers

Cons

was making 62500 as a local driver and home every weekend and then they took it away but they only average a measly 30000 for there slaving otr drivers

Advice to Management

quit spending so much to advertise for new drivers and start paying the one you have what there worth.

I worked at Knight Transportation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They do run 48 and Canada. I did get to one off time on time.

    Cons

They do not share all the important info. I was terminated without question or interview when I had my 1st parking lot incident in 7 or 8 years. They have a 90 day policy that states automatic termination if you have any incidents or accidents. They do not share this policy in recruiting or orientation. The incident caused $750 damage and of course was my responsibility and no one else's. Had I known about the policy I may have made a different decision, maybe not. We will never know.
Al the operations centers function as different markets and dispatch regionally. You may p/u a long haul load only to have a dispatcher in that region pull it off you to put you on a short haul or local delivery.
The E-log they use is one of the very first and the info is not processed on the truck. You have to send a message in to the central server and hope it takes. Often it does not and you spend a good deal of time on the phone getting it fixed.

    Advice to Management

Inform the drivers during the orientation phase if not the recruiting phase about all the pertinent info. Get new Qualcomms with the new E-logs.

I have been working at Knight Transportation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Opportunity to move up in position but not pay.

    Cons

Treat you like a robot. Can not meet promises to drivers or managers.

    Advice to Management

Listen to what drivers and managers are telling you. Adapt to market change instead of doing what's always been done.
