Pros

The company has great technology and vision. Marketing press releases are good and they keep Kofax in the news every day. The company hires good employees and now they need to spend more effort to keep them on board.

Cons

There is way too much churn of employees at Kofax which leaves the company constantly re-training. Major customers and partners don't seem to be in tune with the changes which leaves them confused and at a loss on who to speak to. The company needs to stabalize itself so make sure they do not begin to lose market share.

Advice to Management

Spend more time listening to employees, partners and end users to make sure you understand the reputation the company is developing.

    Pros

Pays market salary, generally a high achievement atmosphere. Like everywhere, it's a mixed bag, but level of employee skill is higher than most. If you do well, there are opportunities.

    Cons

Raises are small if you stay in normal tracks (with no promotions, just seniority). Negotiate a good salary to start. If you are a top performer, negotiate your salary while you are there -- make commitments and deliver -- they will get recognized.

    Advice to Management

Product Management/Product Marketing connection could be better -- I know that's hard and it's being worked on. It's important. Biggest issue with it is that it's usually not co-located and they have very different reporting lines (and so, not common goals at the lower levels)

    Pros

Not required to work from headquarters
    Some quality people

    Cons

    Poor morale
    Lack of quality executive leadership
    Mercenary approach to business
    Classic Quarter-to-Quarter approach to business
Lot's of marginal employees who think they're "top tier"

    Advice to Management

Provide actions that back the words you use when saying "employees are important to the success of the business".
