Pros

if you work hard and dont cause any trouble you advance real quick. If your a full timer your guarnteed 36 hours a week. vacation, benefits all that jazz

Cons

now even though that is great. the excitement only last so long. your asked to work long hours. most of the time you close one night just to open the next, close and then open again. yes they give you exactly 8 hours in between but what kind of life is that. dont try to better yourself by going to school and trying to work at kohls ever. they say they accomidate but its a joke. if your part time and this is your only job i feel for you. becuase your only going to get 10 hours a week and make little to nothing. most of the time there only 4 people on the floor all day so be expected to do everything perfectly and leave exshausted and never get a thank you or great job. and the minute you have a suggestion or complaint consider that your resignation becuase now management is going to find a reason to fire you and get a replacement.

the job sucks the people suck the company sucks

Advice to Management

get real. stop putting so much pressure on the associates. overloading them with work is not going to save you money. be grateful for what your associates do for you

"Kohl's...good security, decent pay, but corporate is out of touch with the actuality of what happens at store level."

    Pros

Yes We Can philosophymeans associates don't need management approval for most things regarding customers.

    Cons

Very hard work...not enough associates to maintain floor standards.

    Advice to Management

Working in the stores is more hands on than you think it is. Asst Mgrs and Store Managers do most of the resets. Lack of associates on the floor means standards aren't where we know they should be. As an Asst Mgr, we have to overlook floor messes to get done projects deemed important by DMs and corporate. We either got in trouble for not doing resets in order to move manpower to clean up the store (recovery) or for resets being done and the floor is a mess. It's extremely difficult to both on allotted payroll.

    I worked at Kohl's full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    -INSANE AMOUNT OF HOURS
they give part time employees full time hours the majority of the time but not all the time so they can't give us health/insurance benefits (they're way of loopholing around the law)
    -Nice coworkers (not management though)

    Cons

    - Terrible management/communication
    - Fired if you call in sick TWO TIMES if physically ill and unable to work regardless of how many sales you have.
    - Force you to shove credit cards on people (kohl's cards) or no hours.
    - No integrity, they write a list of who they're hiring on for seasonal and who they're not keeping so as to embarrass employees.
    - Managers would body shame skinny girls and call them "skinny [insert curse word here]".
    -10/10 would not recommend.

    Advice to Management

Don't fire your best employees for being sick 2 times.
Stop body shaming skinny girls because of your own insecurities.
