Advice to Management

My advice to the management would be to learn how to deal with people, I felt i could be a WAY better manager then the store manager.

I have been working at Kohl's part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

~ Very flexible hours to accommodate life events / work.
~ Nice discount and many generous discounts throughout the year.
    ~ Great teamwork when needed.
~ Nice place to work if you enjoy working independantly. Expect to be a self-starter.
~ Ability to be cross-trained in all areas.
~ Volunteer events to help raise money in the community.
~ Company has many 'green' aspects.
~ Does offer benefits and 401k.

    Cons

    ~ Favoritism
~ Pay is above minimum wage, but not competitive.
    ~ Small raises
~ Hours are very sporatic during the week
~ If you are part-time, amount of hours you are scheduled for depend on sales. Especially during the beginning months of the year.
~ Not much training, you have to learn on your own.
~ Promotions are based on favoritism rather than skills, knowledge, or seniority.

    Advice to Management

Lower management needs to be trained and more knowledgable than regular employees. Listen to employees about ideas.

I have been working at Kohl's full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There is room for growth, but hit the ground running. It seems to help if you impress early with Kohl's. If you've been there a while you die on the vine...

    Cons

Credit processing is the #1 goal. When the company, district or specific store is trending down, be prepared to drop what you're doing and push credit applications...
