I have been working at Kroger part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

I like the job security and flexibility toward schedules. My experience with them thus far has been a decent one and I feel appreciated as an employee by coworkers in management and customers.

Cons

If you're on your own, you will need a second job to make ends meet. Due to being Union, pay starts off at $7.25 an hour at part time.

Advice to Management

Listen to the customers when certain products are not available that once were. Also, make advancing in the ranks more accessible for those that work hard and wish to advance.

I worked at Kroger full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good health benefits and paid vacation. Can get a lot of product samples (good merchandise) for small dollar amounts. Somewhat of a flexible schedule for management.

    Cons

Little to no room for advancement. It's a neccesity to work long hours and weekends to complete projects on time. Big buzz word is work/life balance, but the company has not made much advancement on that. Morale is low and stress if high. Dog eat dog atmosphere. Corporate office does not have enough staff to handle majority of the workloads.

    Advice to Management

Bring on more staff to handle workloads so associates can achieve a better work/life balance. Delegate projects commensurate with employees experience. Create a structured training program so new hires and associates new to their particular assignments are not struggling to complete the work.
