Pros

Store managers are easy to work with. Employees for the most part are great.

Cons

District Management is unreasonable. General office is WAY too disconnected and they have no idea what is going on in the stores. Hours are terrible, if you are a co manager you are guaranteed to work at least 3 to 4 nights until 11 pm. It is almost impossible to get a weekend off. I went 4 months without a weekend off. There is no support system.

Advice to Management

Hire more management for store level. Work life balance is terrible. Find some people for district management who have people skills! Our district manager would literally walk our store and not say one word to the employees. The district manager would always find something negative, never positive.

I worked at Kroger full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent company. Worked up from Bagger to Store Manager with "0" College. Kroger provded me areas to advance and that is what I did.

    Cons

Any job has it's down side, but long hours finally got to me. Actions are being taken currently and I think that will help some.

    Advice to Management

Rewarding people for job well done goes a long way. Anything to recognize our Great People will help in the fight to stay #1. Keep that stock price moving up.

I have been working at Kroger part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Not extremely strenuous, co-workers are alright

    Cons

Low pay, no advancement, management won't replace equipment until well after it needs to be, schedule is tight and hard to work around, even in a part-time position

    Advice to Management

Get equipment that works and don't be cheap about it. I've lost sales and pissed people off because the intercom at my kiosk has been broken since we got it.
