Pros

The company has good policies (and some silly ones like even the peons wear ties), there is easy camaraderie between the employees and management, they pay everyone decent wages. Most stores have an eatery of some kind, and most are 24/7 so it's easy to find a niche or try something else if you get bored. The usual benefits of gas station work apply; fast-paced without being murderous, you'll get lots of customer service experience, etc.

Cons

Absolutely no benefits for non-management positions. No "breaks" per se, since there are "dead periods" when you may rest. Of course that time is spent on side work, so it's not quite fair.

Advice to Management

Would a week of vacation for the cashiers really ruin the company?

I have been working at Kum & Go full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, potentially a "low stress" job, good company values

    Cons

Too much workload for managers, poor communication from the top, company values not practiced, smaller stores are not viewed as a priority by upper management. Depending on the specific store you work at, this could be the best place you ever worked or the worst.

    Advice to Management

Don't rely on intimidation factor when visiting stores. Upper management visits should be a purely positive experience.

I have been working at Kum & Go full-time

    Pros

Variety of special event activities like cake breaks and happy hours
Work-life balance good in some areas, but it definitely depends on the manager

    Cons

Leadership is not aware of underlying issues and problems
Benefits and compensation in many positions below market or competitors
Want to move so quickly that they sometimes sacrifice quality

    Advice to Management

Need to be willing to make tough decisions and changes that will set this organization apart from other competitors. Need to be more innovative to get ahead of others.
