I worked at L-3 Communications full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good jobs with great opportunities if you are a male

    Cons

Old boy network, multiple generations of families there and those in middle manage are unwilling to improve and catch up with modern practices/policies

    Advice to Management

Corporate needs to come in and clean up the 'Good-ol-boy' network and modernize procedures. This plant gives the other plants of L-3 a bad image. The Communication Systems West division is light years ahead of the MID division in linking and tracking parts in 'Team Center', the database system that tracks all of the parts, eco's, etc. The MID division is good at hiding the good-ol-boy network mentality and seams to promote the problem makers and those incompetent in performing their job versus addressing the problem.

    I worked at L-3 Communications full-time

    Pros

8 hour job 5 days/week, decent hours for shifts, management is flexible about time off, depending on what area - management is supportive.

    Cons

Growth of an individual is very limited due to union & function of facility. Low moral. Hard to make improvements on equipment, tests, and overall structure.
