I have been working at L-3 Communications full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people. Fun projects. Diverse programs. Challenging. The first few years I worked at L-3 I loved it. There was always something to do and the opportunity to do it well. There were a lot of people to help you do your best.

    Cons

The future of the company is shaky. Layoffs abound lately! As a result, people are more averse to helping others. The morale is very poor and in some groups have been put on mandatory overtime to pick up the slack of the recent layoffs.

    Advice to Management

I have had good and bad managers. But both failed in the communication area. They would not speak unless spoken to. There was no communication down to the peons from upper management staff meetings.

I worked at L-3 Communications full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

L-3 really knows how to take care of their employees. I had a good experience working for them. benefits were great and the inter-company communication was good as well.

    Cons

L-3 is a government contracting company, so as government spending goes so goes your job.

    Advice to Management

Continue to keep clear open lines of communication to your employees, it helps them feel that they are a part of the company as a whole and that they are heard when they have concerns.
