I have been working at L.A. Care Health Plan full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

The benefits are quite good. They have a reputation for not paying as well as other companies but the benefits help balance it out. Plus you work to help people who need help, and that's a good feeling.

Cons

Sometimes we don't always know where we are going because of external forces, but I feel we will be just fine after Obamacare is all implemented and the dust settles.

Advice to Management

Walk among and talk with employees on all floors at least once a week.

    Pros

Great people to work with, good atmosphere

    Cons

Management at all levels is horrible!!! Management often plays favorites giving promotions to less qualified employees, if management doesn't like you or has any problems with you, they can and will conspire with HR to terminate you. The HR department does not support the the employees at all, but will side with manage. Once terminated, HR will do anything it can to deny you unemployment benefits.

    Advice to Management

WAKE UP!! Listen to the actual workers, find out their concerns. You really want to know what's going on in your department talk to the people who are on the front lines. Please overhaul your HR department, HR is suppossed to support the employees, not conspire against them (I've seen this happen)
