Pros

It's an education with a cutting edge company that is willing to change course when needed to be successful! I worked for Macy's for 18 years and Limited Brands reminds me of my early years in retail when four years with Macy's was considered the equivalent of an MBA by Forbes Magazine.

Cons

Too many floorsets, you are always in a planning mode. It can be challenging trying to find time to develop your team. There needs to be more level set between districts. Some District Managers want to micro-manage every detail of your store while others give you the freedom to be a shopkeeper which is the way the business is suppose to be driven.

Advice to Management

Balance the newness process with the human element. Planning all the time keeps you in crisis mode. Deliver goods in a timely manner, make the manufacturers, shippers and buyers accountable for timely delivery of goods to the stores for floorsets and promotions.

    Constantly being recruited to other retailers! Everyone seems to know how talented the Limited Brands employees are!
