I have been working at L3 Technologies full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The division I work for really cares about people. I'm in middle management at a 500 person division. I sit in meetings with the president and VPs, so I know that anytime a layoff is required, they do whatever they can to mitigate the pain. The company shares bonuses with all employees, not just management. There are some very bright people working there, and I have learned so much about my job in the time that I've been there, that I feel much better prepared for any other opportunity that may arise. I can't speak for the other divisions, but I recommend them highly.

    Cons

The biggest downside is the opportunity for advancement. Each division is fairly small, so it's very easy to top out.

    Advice to Management

Do not assume that your "A" players will be satisfied indefinitely to stay in their current positions. Since you've spent the time and money developing their skills, find a way to advance their careers. Take more interest in individual careers.
