I have been working at L3Harris full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

-Employee Resource Groups are a great benefit that help employees network internally and develop skills -Current "Unlimited" vacation and sick time is nice (might change with the merger) -Good work/life balance -Good pay

    Cons

-Really poor management -HR doesn't have the resources it needs to be a competitive advantage for the company -High turnover rate -Direct managers are extremely hit or miss in terms of engagement

    Advice to Management

Corporate management and upper management at Harris isn't knowledgeable about what happens at the ground level and what constraints there are to do work. Too often do you hear the phrase "look at it from 30,000 feet". Management needs to come out of their ivory tower and see how things are done on the ground level before making changes. They don't understand how the changes affect the day to day work and work was made much more difficult, inefficient, and ineffective because of that. They care too much about metrics and not enough about how the actual work is getting done.

I worked at L3Harris full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Lots of experienced engineers to learn from - Many opportunities to try different aspects of embedded software engineering: testing, debugging, developing new features, continuous integration/build coordinating, and agile processes. - Good for new hires who want to work hard and learn - Great hours: 40 hours per week - “Unlimited” vacation if approved by manager - Fair pay

    Cons

    - I’ve heard it can be difficult to acquire raises. - I had a slow start. There is a lot of stuff going on at L3Harris and it is a little overwhelming. A more proper training program would be helpful.
