I have been working at LA Fitness full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

For the most part good people, fun working enviornment, room to grow.

    Cons

If you have a bad GM you will hate your job and as much as you're going to be there it's going to be your entire life. My first GM was awesome, had a passion for the job and wanted to see his people succeed. When he went to a new club the new GM came in and turned everything on its head. We had a sales counseler who'd been at the club for almost a year quit within a week because of how had the GM was. If you're going to be a fitness club GM you have to have some type of background in the fitness industry.

    Advice to Management

Only hire managers with a fitness background.

I have been working at LA Fitness full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nice Facility, Great Locker Room, that's it, no employee room, no office for conferences or training, and building issues all the time

    Cons

Constant Payroll Issues, which they blame on everything but the real truth, they forgot to tell you really how they pay. Then as you may as well know, this company has many class action suites against them for fraud and deceptive actions towards its customers. The sad part once you have been working for them 1 month, all those complaints seem true. They change pricing like they change underwear, they offer less than what they tell folks, they high pressure their sales staff but offer lack of training, support and materials let alone put them in a loosing situation with less than a chance to make any of the bonus they promise. I could go on, but here is the main thing. This company has no intention of changing anything even when they fail, and you if accept a position will be who they blame. The upper management ,VP ect have no care for any employee or members.

    Advice to Management

Learn Continuous Improvement, Hire a marketing company so you will know your demographic, Train your Staff, Finally get some ethics and morals. Basically if you have been in this business or in management , do not accept a position with this company, you will be wasting your time ,money and could be wasting a better opportunity with another company who may offer you a beeter career path.
